Summertime! Confirming dates

Hello hello!

The last week of July has been chosen as the definite "Community Art Project" week. This means either July 26th or 27th-August 2nd or 3rd (as I have to run back to Europe, to write and write and write). We'll pick the Saturday or Sunday start date in the late spring.

Love Meghan

PS- This photo is not at the cottage. I'm just thinking of summer (and I don't even have snow).
PPS- Prize if you guess which legs are mine!

Meet Erin!

If there is one thing you should know about me, it's this: I am going to be famous.
I haven't quite sorted out all the details yet but it will most likely involve becoming the Queen of England. Some people tell me this is impossible but I think I am perfectly cut out for being the Queen. I love tea, I look fabulous in hats (not everyone can pull off a sombrero like I can) ...what more could they want?
I have been going to Centre Stage Camp for 4 big summers!! I love SPAM, The Pleasures Of Cheese, crackers, sushi (okay, pretty much every food), I love fire. I am going to be a famous fire eater in the circus soon. I can play guitar, juggle (3 balls!! I'm not just your average 2 ball cheater juggler), and I am the champion of all of the camp games so watch out!
I also have the privilage of being friends with the best fish ever! Clyde has lived with me for almost a year -his birthday is April 15- and he is the best. He is also going to be famous. He could do anything: he is a genius, he is super fast, he is so friendly and outgoing. But most of all, he is handsome! He is the most attractive fish! He gets compliments all the time! I think he will most likely become a male model.
Anyway, the point is, you should meet me so that one day you can tell your grandchildren how you were friends with the Erin Johnston!

Meet Lauren!

" Lauren Lauren Lauren Lauren Lauren Lauren Lauren Lauren LAUREN LAUREN!! "

For everyones amusement, I have created a song. I call it, The Name that Rhymes with Bauren. you may sing it to any tune you wish (I prefer sing it too the Batman theme song ^.^)
I have been going to Meghan's Drama Camp of Wonder and Love for...years...man...how long has it been? I am guessing something like 4 years now, which is where you all know me from. I enjoy silliness, Tom Foolery, Shananagins(or any type of nonsense for that matter), acting, dancing, eating, sleeping, movie watching, reading, and long walks on the beach.
"so Lauren, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
" Oh, sorry, but I am not planning on growing up"
Well, that pretty much sums it up. I am planing on growing down...what I will do when I am down there I do not know yet, something creative/artistic I suppose. Acting, dancing, writing, drawing...I just never want to be stuck behind a desk.

Ok. I will stop with the ridiculousness.
I am really quite a laid back, mature person. It just so happens to be close to my bed time though, which would explain a lot.
I am a grade 9 student at East Northumberland Secondary school. I will be 15 on April 12th.
for everyone reading this, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU THIS SUMMER!

love always
-Lauren

The Cottage!

Here is a photo of the cottage. What you're seeing is a view from the lake, the boathouse is in the front. The top floor of the cottage contains three bedrooms, a huge living room, 2 bathrooms (one is called "the purple bathroom" and the other "the yellow bathroom"), a kitchen and dining room. The downstairs contains a laundry room, the "other" bathroom (complete with sauna... which I don't know how to use). There is a large living/sleeping area, and a giant games room (with a billiards table). It's a funny, fun place.

I'm excited to find out where the theatre will occur!

Add a post, if you like!

As students (or their parents) respond to the invitation to participate in this project (which gets me very excited), I will email them an invitation to add to this blog. Once we have a list of people involved, I will make the blog private so it is more secure to post pictures that only can be seen by those of us involved.

Like this one!

A blurry photo of a rehearsal for the restaurant play (July, 2007).

Feel free to write a little bio of yourself, and add it!

Meet Meghan!

I'm just kidding. You know me.

But if you don't, I'm a young lady who hopes to do work with theatre in education and community development through arts. I have my BFA in Theatre and Development from Concordia University and am currently working on my MA in Applied Theatre (Drama in the Community and Drama in Education) at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London, England. I ran a (quite successful, if I may say so myself) theatre camp in Belleville, Ontario for four years, and had a blast (with all of you!). I've studied street theatre in India, done theatre with young people in Huancayo, Peru, and cannot wait to take Gravenhurst by storm.

I like friends, cooking (when someone tells me what to do very precisely), swimming in lakes, making up yoga moves secretly when I'm home alone, and the colour red.

Meet Kyle!

This is Kyle. He is a very good friend of mine, who currently lives in Pickering, Ontario. He's about to embark on a backpacking adventure of India, so will come back enlightened and tanned. I asked him to work with me, as he has a very fun way of being responsible, is very creative, smart and knows how to rap on the spot (ask him!). I'll ask him to introduce himself later and will introduce everyone involved eventually.

Hello! Let's do this!

I am thrilled and hopeful that this project will be an excellent part of summer 2008. I will post the official explanation of the project later, if you have found this site, I'm assuming you have received my letter.

This blog will be used for keeping in contact before the project. I hope to put up some creative questions and ideas for you to answer in whatever manner you wish. This will give us material to work with on our week away. A website that inspired me was: http://www.learningtoloveyoumore.com, where you can respond to any stimulus in any way you wish, according to your time and interest. Or none at all!

More to come, more to come.

Love!
